Rapid Antigen Screening Kit Distribution Plan

For Small and Medium Sized Businesses under 150 Employees

Overview

Screening people in the workplace with rapid antigen testing will help identify individuals with COVID-19 to help protect others from exposure and provide much needed data about viral prevalence within job sites and communities across Canada. The goal of this program is to identify individuals who are asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic to prevent them from spreading the COVID-19 virus in the workplace, at home and in the community. The Blind River & District Chamber of Commerce will act as a distribution center for Rapid Antigen Screening kits to be used for self-screening in the workplace under the guidance of proper Health and Safety Guidelines provided. The purpose of this process is for employees of small and medium sized businesses who:

  1. Asymptomatic (do not have any symptoms of COVID-19).
  2. Have not had any contact with a known positive case of COVID-19.

Employees with recognized COVID-19 symptoms are required by Public Health Authorities to register for a PCR Test at a local Regional Public Health approved location.

If an employee develops symptoms, they MUST leave the workplace immediately, self-isolate and follow the direction of local public. The employee must arrange for public PCR test that must be completed.

The employer should not allow the return of the employee until a confirmed negative result is provided.

What you need to know.

  1. Fill out the "Order Self Screening Kits" report.
  2. Once order is received and packaged you will be notified by The Blind River & District Chamber of Commerce. Please do not visit the Chamber office until your time for pickup has been scheduled.
  3. Each company should assign a Screening Supervisor Designate , who will be the contact person.
  4. If you have multiple businesses, please fill out one form per business.

What you need to know before you arrive.

  1. Only arrive at your pre-designated time slot (noted in your confirmation email).
  2. REMAIN IN YOUR VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES.
  3. Wear a masks throughout the entire pick-up process.
  4. Drive up and check in at (to be announced).
    1. Call (to be announced) upon arrival.
    2. Provide the completed Provincial Antigen Screening Program form.
    3. Provide the completed Chamber Liability Waiver Form.
  5. While in your vehicle, you will be provided with a tablet to watch the required 5-minute training video.
  6. You will then be handed your 3-week supply of rapid antigen screening kits and instructions on safe disposal.

Reporting Your Results

In order to participate in the Workplace Self Screening program, all participants must agree to immediately reporting the results as soon as employees have been tested.

Your Screening Supervisor Designate will be responsible for reporting all results.

Results can only be submitted through the online portal.

Results are shared with Health Canada and the Ministry of Health Ontario.

Reminder

Anyone who receives a positive test result through the Workplace Self Screening Kit will need to make arrangements with their local Public Health Unit to receive a PCR test as soon as possible. They must also work with Public Health to determine when it is safe for them to return to work.
